| The cutest bakery in a small riverside town in NS. The bakery looked as if it belonged in New Hope PA. |

| Beautiful harbor in Digby, NS. Famous for scallops and yes, they were good! |

We are settled in the camper for the night. Just in time, it has finally started to rain after threatening for hours. We are camped in Kouchibouquac National Park in NB. We had never heard of it but it was close to where we were and on the water so we decided to visit. It is on the gulf of St Laurence and has beaches, salt marshes and lots of hike/bike trails.
Best of all, especially since it is a rainy night, we have wifi and power in the campsite. That means unlimited internet. Sometimes it is hard to check the news, email and blog in the space of a cup of tea at McDonalds. So this is a luxury.
We have given up on the idea of going to PEI. This is their busy season and we just don't want to deal with that. Which means that soon we will have to leave the coast and head west. I hate the thought of leaving the ocean!
We are camped with a view of a small harbor filled with boats ready to head out and set lobster traps first thing tomorrow morning. Lots of activity there this afternoon as the lobstermen ready their boats and load traps. There has been a lot on the news lately about cheap lobster coming into Canada from the US. We asked a local woman who had family getting ready to go out what this lobster season would be like. She told us that US lobster is higher quality that what they will get at this time of year in Canada because the lobster here were starting to molt. Most fishermen will get less than $2-$3/pound on this catch. We heard on CBC news that they needed at least $4/lb to make any money. She confirmed that and added that they won't make any profit, maybe enough to make the boat payment but maybe not even that. What a lot of work for so little return.
But this is only one season, there is still crab to catch and hopefully a better price on that.

Fish shack menu, we bought fresh fish and cooked in the camper.

New Brunswick has many Acadien regions and we are close to Quebec but I was surprised today, around the park, all I hear is French. I have to get the french language download out and start practicing. I am worried about Quebec where I hear they often don't bother with the English on signs. This should be interesting.
