Colorado

Fall is such a beautiful season in Colorado! Our short trip started with a bike around Rampart Reservoir outside of Colorado Springs.  The trail was mostly decomposed granite and it took a while for me to get used to riding on that surface.  Most of the trail was level but there were some tight spots around rocks.

We camped near Woodland Park after Bruce realized that he forgot both his mug and coffee we headed into town for a Starbucks.  Such wilderness campers we are!  On to Cripple Creek and Victor to poke around some of the old mining areas.  They have all been cleaned up so much since we first came to Colorado.  I suppose that is a good thing, but they were a lot more exciting  back in the day.

Old buildings near the Cripple Creek and Victor Mining CO mine.

Our trip was short because the nights were getting cold and many areas were closed because of the government shutdown.  It was nice to play tourist in Colorado.
