While we were on the south western coast of Newfoundland we stopped by two local festivals. The Mainland Festival Folklorique was in an area where the french heritage was very strong. It was early so the festival was quiet but locals assured us that it would get quite crowded around 10PM and go strong till about 3AM. Well, as you can guess we didn't last that long but we did hear some great music and see some exceptional dancing. (On my computer these videos show as blank but if you click on them they work.)
Those guys can dance. The festival had games for the kids and food and adult beverages. But the rules for alcohol in NL are so strict that the drinking are has to be separate from the rest of the event.

| Here I am in the drinking area. The fence is wide enough so that no one can pass a beer out to an underage drinker. |

Yes, if you want a beer you have to be in the bar.
