An Evergreen Life: Bottling

After being sick for about a week I realized that I needed to get my beer in bottles now. I’m not sure how long it can sit but I wanted to have some by the time our company arrives in April so I needed to get it done. It isn’t an easy process yet. As I loaded the bottles in the dishwasher to sanitize I realized that I counted wrong and didn’t have enough to bottle this batch! So, door to door in my neighborhood begging for empty bottles. Finally one neighbor directed me to another’s trash. Score! 11 bottles, just enough. I guess I owe him some beer. I had help bottling this time, much better, less beer everywhere. This last batch is a black porter a more complex beer than my first attempt. My brother in law just gave me an information sheet that he keeps for every batch he brews so that it would be easier to duplicate a good batch. I can see the advantage there are so many variables. All I need is to brew a batch that I want to duplicate!
