This is the update on the last of our trip.
From NY we continued west through northern Pennsylvania, and Michigan and on to Wisconsin to visit our friends Bill and Dee. Madison is a beautiful city with the most amazing Farmer's Market!

| Beautiful displays of produce and flowers, honey and baked goods. |

Another photo from Dee. The market wraps all around the capitol.

We caught up and hung out with our good friends who also let us sleep inside and have a real bathroom. (Well of course they do!) Such a treat for us after almost 2 months in the camper.
The students were back in class and the student union by the lake was a wonderful place for some live music.
| Music was great! |
| So were the pubs! Bill, Dee and me in a local pub. |
We left Wisconsin and continued west towards South Dakota. We had not been back to the Badlands for many years and wanted to explore a bit there.
| Not sure who collected these cars or why but there they were out in a field. |
| South Dakota sunflowers. |
| Fields of flowers. |
.
| Lots of sky, I missed the wide open spaces! |
| Hiking in the 109 degree heat. Whose idea was that anyway! |
| Beautiful starkness of the West. |
| If only it had not been so hot! |
As we drove west the temperature began to rise. When we arrived at the Badlands National Park it was 109!! We tried to hike, but it was too hot! After about .25 mile we gave up. We realized that it was too hot to camp and unless we drove further away from home it would continue to be uncomfortable. It was cooler in Evergreen. So, just like that our trip was over. We had run out of places to go.
We were gone for 3 months and drove approximately 12,000 miles. We got to catch up with out of state friends and family. We saw some amazing places. Most of all we came back realizing just how fortunate to live in the US and in Evergreen.
We've come to the end of our great road trip and I am so glad that we did it. Are we done? Not at all! In fact next week we take off for a short Colorado road trip. And, we have all winter to plan the next one.
