It took months, a few mistakes and a lot of research but we now own a Toyota Tundra. A friend who works for a Toyota dealer located it for us and it is exactly what we wanted. He was brilliant and made the process easy. It even has a dent, in the back where it is not so noticeable. The dent was on Bruces want list for the truck, so there is no pressure on us. Really because he thought it would be cheaper. I did not get heated seats, right up there on my list but I am hoping that my flexibility here will help later when it comes to camper choice!
Next, the camper. Lots of conflicting information out there as far as payload. There seems to be two schools of thought. Keep it light and just put one on there.
So, we are looking for a moderate weight camper, well under 2000 lbs. This means no shower and only a pota potty. I am willing to be somewhat flexible on this last issue. But I need an indoor bathroom, at least I think I do so I don't have to come out of my shell till I have had my tea in the morning. I don't want to think about stumbling out of the camper, hair and clothes askew looking for a bathroom and maybe even having to talk to someone! Nightmare!
Hard to know what will be important when I have never lived an RV lifestyle but I am willing to bet that I will not become social and alert in the morning!
